  I’m on a bit of a rant today…
Yes, I realize that driving the ball 250 yards is
thrilling, but getting a low score is what really counts.
Take pro Fred Funk, for example.
  Funk says, “I can’t overpower a golf course…
I have to go out and pick and choose my spots and try to stay out of trouble.”
How has Funk succeeded on the PGA tour in spite of being regularly out-hit for distance?
Accuracy. He continually hits more than 75% of fairways.
Funk sustains his accuracy with a steady, near-perfect “set-up” for his shot.
Funk is the perfect example of playing to your strengths.
So often, it’s tempting to “drive for show” and over-focus
on what you look like on the golf course.
  Funk is smarter than that.
He knows his stature of five feet nine inches and 165 pounds does not put him in the “big guy, big hitter” category.
He plays to his strengths: finesse, accuracy, touch.
It works. Funk has secured seven PGA tour victories.
He considers his 2005 Players Championship his defining win.
